About Joy

I am a native English speaker (though I started out speaking Chinese as a baby). I attended Christ for the Nations Institute, play several instruments and enjoy science, math and dancing. I am passionate for professionalism and patience. In my spare time, you will find me playing strategy games, working on improving my dancing or just working on a project in general.

About the lesson

As a language learner, I understand it is hard to learn another language and apply it.

Please contact me directly if you would like to hear more about my American accent. I will teach with the American accent and wording. Because I only speak English, translators (such as electronics) are allowed for some of the lesson to ease the communication. I can also provide more information about my teaching methods.

Therefore, my method is immersive- we will talk. Anything in the lesson will be useful, helpful or fun. The lessons will be highly tailored to the client. My goal is to have students speaking through the lesson, not just listening. Practice makes good.

I am patient, and I aim to teach clients so they can be confident in English and not be tied to the translator 100% of the time. Not only this, but I wish for clients to have confidence in navigating American cultures without losing their own culture or accent. The point is to be understood by native English speakers without losing your identity- that sums up my lessons.

Disclaimer- I am not an English dictionary, so I might not have perfect grammar and writing. But the point of the lesson is to guide the client to speak confidently in any situation.

I offer lessons for $40 for 60 minutes of English speaking tutoring. I can offer 30 min for $20. Unfortunately, I do not offer packages of lessons. Please contact me when able, and I can share my teaching studio for the pertinent subject. I do not offer the first lesson free. I use Venmo.
