About Kaiah
Kia ora, I am a 22-year-old student at the University of Otago/Ōtākou whakaihu waka studying a Bachelor of Health Science and hopefully ending up in a health profession postgrad. I am originally from the North Island but reside in Dunedin for studies. My journey with my reo started in kōhanga reo; from there, I went to all rūmaki reo schools (Immersion schools) and have held my reo close to me ever since. I have been tutoring for 2 years and enjoy teaching/helping people with Te Reo Māori. I tutor so I can share what I know about my ahurea (culture) but also because I really enjoy speaking te reo Māori.

Tēnā rā tātou katoa, I offer tutoring to certain levels in te reo Māori. I can also tutor in writing and reading. For high school students: I can tutor both Te Reo Māori year 9-13 and Te Reo Rangatira year 11-13. I can also tutor the scholarship papers offered. I can ensure my lesson plans are helpful so that you can reach your goals, and if your end goal is to endorse with excellence to gain scholarships for university, I can help in that area too. For university students: I know in many degrees you are expected to take a Māori paper, and learning a second language at such an age is really hard. I can ensure you'll get a really good grade and come out of the paper being able to speak a mid-level of Te Reo Māori. If you have to take papers that aren't te reo Māori based (e.g., papers like Māori society), I am able to help in that area too and can ensure your essays will impress and your knowledge on te ao Māori will expand. For non-students: If your goal is to either hold a conversation in te reo Māori or be able to speak on the pae, I can help with that also, no goal is too big.
