My Law lessons draw on years of practical legal experience and teaching, blending core principles with real-world applications to give you a well-rounded understanding of the subject. I focus on breaking down complex legal concepts into clear, manageable parts, using case studies and problem-solving to develop your analytical and reasoning skills.

Core topics typically covered include:
- Legal Systems and Method: How legal systems operate, sources of law, statutory interpretation, and developing legal research and reasoning skills

- Contract Law: Key concepts such as formation, validity, breach, and available remedies

- Criminal Law: Understanding criminal responsibility, defences, and classifications of offences

- Islamic Law: Core doctrines and their relevance in modern legal contexts

- Tort Law: Principles of negligence, duty of care, and liability

- Public and Constitutional Law: Constitutional frameworks, human rights, and judicial review

- Business and Commercial Law: Company structures, partnership law, agency relationships, and commercial transactions

I focus on helping students bring legal theory to life through practical case discussions, problem-solving, and essay writing. Whether you’re preparing for exams, coursework, or moot courts, my lessons are tailored to your level - A Level, IB, undergraduate, or foundation - and aimed at building confidence and a deeper understanding of how law really works.

  • When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

My interest in law started when I was at school, and it only grew stronger as I studied at university. The complexity of legal systems and the way law shapes the world we live in fascinated me. I knew I wanted to teach and share that passion with others. Tutoring, for me, was a natural way to help students understand these complex topics and support them in their academic journey. Over the last five years, it’s been incredibly rewarding to watch students grow and succeed.
  • Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I teach a range of law topics including Contract Law, Company Law, Criminal Law, and Tort Law. What excites me most is helping students get to grips with these subjects by breaking them down into real-life examples. I enjoy seeing students connect the dots between theory and practice. Contract Law, in particular, is a topic I love teaching because it’s so relevant to everyday life, whether it’s a business agreement or a simple transaction. Some students find Legal Systems and Method a bit abstract, but I enjoy making it accessible and showing its importance in understanding the wider legal framework.
  • Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

I was lucky to have several inspiring teachers throughout my education. However, my A-Level law teacher had the biggest impact on me. She didn’t just teach the subject; she made us see the relevance of law in the real world and pushed us to think critically. Her approach to teaching made me realise that I wanted to follow a similar path and help others develop that same passion and curiosity about the subject.
  • What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

For me, a good tutor needs to be approachable, patient, and adaptable. Every student learns differently, so it’s important to adjust teaching methods to suit their individual needs. I believe in creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing their thoughts. It’s all about helping them build confidence in their abilities and showing them that they can succeed, no matter how challenging the subject may seem at first.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

I remember a particular student who was really struggling with understanding the principles of Tort Law. After a few sessions of discussing real-world examples and breaking down the legal terms into simple, digestible chunks, their confidence began to grow. When they sat their exam and achieved the grade they were aiming for, it was a moment of real pride for both of us. It’s moments like that that remind me why I love teaching, helping students conquer something they thought was beyond them is incredibly rewarding.
  • What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

One of the challenges students face, and one that I also encountered, is keeping up with the vast amount of information in law. The subject can seem overwhelming with all the case law, legislation, and legal principles. The key, I believe, is to break things down into manageable chunks and build a solid understanding of the basics before moving on to more complex topics. It’s all about developing a method that works for each student to stay organised and focused.
  • Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

I have a passion for both teaching and law. I enjoy seeing students light up when they finally grasp a difficult concept and realise how they can apply it. Law, especially the practical aspects like Contract Law and Corporate Law, is something I find fascinating because it’s so connected to real-world situations. Outside of law, I also have a strong interest in helping people achieve their goals and unlock their full potential, whether in education or in other areas of life.
  • What makes you a Superprof (besides answering these interview questions :-P)?

What makes me a Superprof is my passion for both the subject and for teaching. My academic background and professional legal experience allow me to offer students a unique perspective, one that combines theoretical knowledge with practical insights. I’m also deeply committed to helping each student succeed in their own way, whether that means helping them pass an exam or simply making them feel more confident in their abilities. I’m here to guide them every step of the way and show them how law can be exciting and relevant to their everyday lives.
