About Raj
With 8+ years of violin teaching experience and a Bachelor of Science in Orchestral Studies, I focus on helping students find their unique musical voice. I use technology like slow-down apps, DAWs, MIDI notation, and video feedback to enhance practice and performance. Recording original songs or covers is a core part of my lessons. I love teaching genres such as Jazz Violin, Rock Strings, and Indie Folk. Improvisation and custom backing tracks are central to my approach. Each lesson is interactive, goal-driven, and fun. I guide students through tone development, phrasing, and expressive playing. Lessons are tailored for recording, live performance, or personal exploration. I combine traditional violin skills with modern recording tools. My goal is to help students develop confidence, creativity, and technical mastery. We explore improvisation, recording techniques, and musical storytelling together. Every session is an opportunity to experiment and grow. I invite you to create your own music and enjoy the journey of violin learning.

I teach violin with a focus on connecting practical playing to music theory. Students learn scales, keys, intervals, and chord theory directly on their instrument. Lessons are interactive and goal-driven, showing the reasoning behind each technique. This method helps learners become more confident and versatile players. I emphasize tone, phrasing, and expressive playing alongside theoretical understanding. Exercises are adapted for exam-focused learners, ensembles, or creative projects. Sight-reading, improvisation, and repertoire analysis are integrated into lessons. Students learn to see patterns and apply theory in real-time music situations. I create a supportive environment where questions are encouraged. Each lesson builds both technical skill and musical insight. By understanding the “why,” students gain lasting confidence on the violin.
