About Tara

I hold a Master’s degree in Music and have been teaching violin for seven years. My academic and performance background equips me to design structured, effective lessons while fostering technical skills, musicality, and expressive performance for students at all levels. Throughout my career, I have taught children, teens, and adults, including beginners and advanced students preparing for competitions or recitals. This range of experience allows me to tailor lessons to individual goals, ensuring steady progress while keeping students motivated and engaged in their learning journey. What inspires me as a tutor is seeing students develop both skill and confidence. I believe violin study cultivates discipline, focus, and creativity while allowing personal expression. My lessons aim to build technical proficiency and artistic interpretation, nurturing a lifelong love and appreciation of music.

About the lesson

My violin lessons start with fundamental techniques such as correct posture, bow hold, and finger placement. Students learn how to produce a steady, clear tone while practicing scales and exercises. These foundational skills develop control, coordination, and confidence, setting the stage for more advanced repertoire.

As learners progress, I focus on intonation, rhythm, and shifting techniques. Students practice etudes, sight-reading, and phrasing to strengthen musical awareness and precision. This approach helps them understand musical structure, anticipate challenges, and develop versatility, enabling performance of classical pieces and contemporary repertoire with greater accuracy.

Performance practice is a key component of lessons. I guide students in dynamics, expressive playing, and stage presence, helping them prepare for recitals, examinations, or personal performances. My teaching nurtures both technical mastery and artistic expression, encouraging learners to communicate emotion and artistry through their music.
