About Keira
I am a dedicated violin tutor with over 8 years of teaching experience and a Diploma in Classical Violin. My passion lies in exploring crossover violin styles, including jazz, rock, hip-hop strings, and world music. I love bringing creativity into every lesson, helping students discover music beyond traditional boundaries. My teaching blends technique with experimentation. I guide students in improvisation, using looping pedals and unique performance techniques to expand their sound. Lessons often include writing original solos, adapting popular songs, and exploring tone and texture in exciting ways. I encourage students to see the violin as both an instrument and a tool for personal expression. Whether you are a beginner or advancing toward mastery, I tailor lessons to your style and goals. My approach is creative, interactive, and inspiring. Together, we will push the limits of your playing. When a student first sits with me, I see more than just a learner — I see a story waiting to unfold. Many begin struggling with posture, unsure how to hold the violin or bow correctly. Together, we work gently on bow hold correction, building a strong foundation that makes playing easier and more enjoyable.
Weak intonation is another common challenge. I guide students through scale discipline, using exercises that strengthen both ear and technique. I turn practice into a journey, where each note becomes part of their personal progress.
Some students arrive with doubts or low motivation. I share stories of growth through music, helping them find joy and purpose in each lesson. For those seeking structure, I design clear, progressive plans. For those drawn to expression, I encourage exploring dynamics that bring music to life.
I also help students build confidence for performances or auditions. For learners eager to progress faster, I offer focused, intensive guidance. My goal is to help every student overcome obstacles and discover their voice on the violin.
