About Stella
I am a violin tutor with over 7 years of experience and a BA in Music Theory focused on violin performance. I work primarily with adult beginners and those returning to music after time away. My lessons emphasise improvisation and exploration of non-classical genres. Together, we’ll explore folk, blues, worship, and approachable classical repertoire. I use simple, structured exercises that make progress easy to follow. Ergonomic positioning is always reinforced to ensure comfort while playing. Mindfulness is integrated into lessons, helping students focus and relax. I encourage learners to enjoy the process and not feel rushed. Improvisation becomes a natural part of learning, building confidence and creativity. Lessons are adapted to match each student’s pace and personal goals. I believe every adult learner deserves a positive and fulfilling experience. Progress is celebrated, no matter the speed. Let’s rediscover the violin together, with creative freedom at the centre of our journey.

My violin methodology is based on systematic skill-building in sight-reading. I teach students how to read notes, rhythms, and ledger lines with clarity. Exercises are designed to build visual-to-finger coordination step by step. This training allows learners to approach new music with confidence. Multi-part scores are introduced early to strengthen ensemble awareness. I place equal emphasis on rhythm, ensuring fluency in both simple and complex metres. For Musical Theatre Enthusiasts, this builds rehearsal readiness and performance confidence. For Worship Singers, it supports smooth transitions in group arrangements. Lessons combine drills with repertoire for meaningful application. Each student receives guidance tailored to their needs. I keep learning interactive, supportive, and practical. My aim is to make music reading a natural skill, not a challenge. With practice, you’ll be able to play new pieces instantly.
