About Yasmin
I’m a violinist with over 8 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Orchestral Studies (Violin). My journey has always been about blending strong classical foundations with fresh, modern approaches. I love showing students how technology can unlock new ways of learning and expressing themselves. In my lessons, I use slow-down apps, DAWs, and MIDI notation to help students break down complex passages and understand music from multiple perspectives. Video feedback is a key tool too—it gives learners a chance to watch themselves play and refine posture, bowing, and tone with clarity. Beyond technique, I’m passionate about teaching genres that expand what the violin can be. Jazz Violin, Rock Strings, and Indie Folk are some of my favourite styles to explore with students. Improvisation is one of my strengths, and I create custom backing tracks that let students practice soloing, rhythm, and expressive freedom in a supportive setting. I believe every student deserves a learning path that matches their creativity, structure, and personal goals. My approach is flexible yet forward-thinking, always balancing tradition with innovation. Together, we’ll focus on skill, confidence, and the joy of making music. My violin teaching approach blends tradition with modern technology to create a dynamic and engaging learning experience. I use metronome apps and tuning software to build rhythm coordination and pitch accuracy, giving students precise feedback while practising. Slow-motion video playback allows posture review and bowing analysis, helping learners visually connect with their progress and correct technique in real time. To make practice more enjoyable, I incorporate backing tracks so students can develop expressive tone matching and ensemble skills even when playing solo. This creates a sense of musical conversation and deepens emotional connection to the instrument. For those who enjoy structure, I provide clear step-by-step goals, while students who value creativity get space to experiment with phrasing and style. I understand that different learners thrive with different methods—some prefer visual feedback, others seek emotional resonance, and many enjoy a tech-supported path that feels interactive and fresh. My role is to balance these needs while keeping lessons motivating and forward-thinking. Whether you’re building confidence as a beginner or refining artistry at an advanced level, I create a learning journey that feels modern, supportive, and inspiring.
