About Teo

I’m a passionate piano tutor with over 14 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Piano. My love for music composition and songwriting deeply influences how I teach, making every lesson a creative and inspiring space. I believe that learning piano should feel exciting, not intimidating, so I craft each session to be fun, engaging, and completely personalized to every student’s goals. Over the years, I’ve had the joy of teaching a wide range of learners—school and college students, adults, and even professionals looking to refine their artistry. My lessons cover everything from chord theory and sight-reading to performance skills and improvisation, helping students build both technical strength and expressive confidence. For those aiming to compose or arrange their own music, I weave in creative exercises that spark ideas and bring original pieces to life. I’ve guided students from intermediate players expanding their skills to advanced and professional musicians seeking to master their craft. Every lesson adapts to where the student is and where they want to go, with a mix of structured practice and space for exploration. About the lesson

My teaching approach is built around helping each student grow step by step, no matter where they are starting from. I guide students through structured skill-building, beginning with chord progressions, scale work, and rhythmic exercises that form a strong foundation. These elements are introduced in a way that feels approachable, never overwhelming, and always connected to real music. I believe that progress comes from understanding how these skills fit together, so I make sure students see how scales support melodies, how chords shape songs, and how rhythm brings everything to life.

Repertoire expansion is an important part of our lessons, and I help students explore pieces that excite and challenge them. Whether someone wants to learn their favorite pop song or dive into something more classical, I create a path that fits their goals. I provide real-time feedback in every session, making adjustments as we go so students build confidence quickly. Mistakes are never treated as setbacks—they’re chances to learn, refine, and keep moving forward.

Practice doesn’t have to feel like a chore, so I design engaging routines that keep things fresh and enjoyable. Some days it might be a short improvisation challenge, other days a focus on a tricky rhythm or new chord. This variety keeps motivation high and progress steady.
