Welcome back to our series in which we travel across the country and across the biggest cities to find and show you all of the options available to you as a dancer! Whether you are looking for beginner classes or a top-level dance contest near you, we have you covered!
Ireland is known to be a country that takes pride in music and dance, and indeed we have even introduced our own styles to the masses. People like Michael Flatley come to mind and the fame that Riverdance garnered! People from all over the world also travel here to see the traditional Irish dancing we are known for.
There is a true appreciation for dance as an expressive art form in Ireland, and this has led to an awful lot of dance studios and qualified dance instructors popping up, and Waterford included!
During the pandemic and its various lockdowns, many of us have looked for some new challenges and hobbies. Some of us have turned to a new language, and others might have turned to dance or music. Waterford is very well equipped to meet these needs, with a number of dance halls in the city, across a wide range of genres!
Dancing is not just a fun hobby; it can also be taken seriously as a competitive hobby for those of you that have a competitive streak! As well as this, it has a number of health benefits, from the mental and physical side. Dancing can be used as a way to get in shape, or to lose weight, as well as having some meditative qualities,
Dancing regularly can improve lung and heart help, as well as flexibility, and this will contribute to a better quality of life! Dancing is inclusive too, with many of the places we will go on to talk about offering lessons for children, adults, new mothers and those with a lack of mobility!
