With a Bachelor of Science in Audio Engineering and 6+ years of guitar teaching experience, I specialize in improvisation-focused instruction for jazz and blues players. I enjoy working with students who want to break out of scale patterns and start making music that's uniquely theirs. My teaching blends structure and creativity, with a strong focus on modal harmony, arpeggios, dominant chord theory, and voice leading. I support learners from intermediate to advanced levels, including professionals prepping for live gigs or studio sessions. Each lesson is built around your goals, whether that's phrasing like Wes Montgomery or creating modal textures like McLaughlin. We dive into bebop vocabulary, rhythmic contrast, and chromatic movement. I also help students develop a focused practice routine and improvisational mindset.
