About Sandro

Having completed my teacher training at The University of Oxford in 2021, I am now in my third year of teaching at one of London's top independent schools having previously been in a leadership position at my previous school. During my first year of teaching, I improved my departments pass rate at GCSE to 70% and increased our grade 7-9 pass rate by almost 15%. I am passionate about engaging pupils in geography and helping them understand the exam specifications and how to answer geographical skills questions.

I first decided I wanted to become a teacher when I worked at a summer camp in the USA for two summers. The thought of teaching children and helping to inspire their passion for geography prompted me to change my university course and complete a Master of Arts in Geography at Heriot- Watt and then continue my progression by studying my PGCE at The University of Oxford. Furthermore, I am currently completing an MSc in Education at the University of Oxford!

About the lesson

I offer 1 to 1 tuition for pupils who need an extra help with their understanding of content covered in school. I can also offer assistance with homework and exam style questions in order to allow students to understand where the examiner would look for marks. Sessions can be flexible in terms of time so students can go at their own pace and truly understand the key geographical concepts covered in the course.
The lesson will generally consist of myself asking questions to the pupil and understanding where the gaps in knowledge are which will then allow me to tailor my lesson and questioning to suit the needs of the pupil. I can also provide lessons and study material that can be completed in the students own time or during the lesson and then provide detailed feedback on how to secure higher marks in assessments.
