About Katrina
I love learning and sharing what I've learned. There are few things better than finally 'getting' that concept you have been struggling to understand. I like to focus on conceptual understanding rather than on rote learning in my tutorials. Rote learning is tedious, easily forgotten, and can't be applied to unfamiliar scenarios; it is conceptual understanding that will really give you the confidence to tackle those all-important exams! We'll start off easy and gradually build up the difficulty, but I'll be here to make sure you're comfortable with each step along the way!

I structure my tutoring sessions around the individual student. I like to get an idea of the level of understanding and knowledge base of the student before commencing tutorials so that I can tailor sessions to address their particular needs. I focus on establishing conceptual understanding rather than rote learning because that is what will stand them in good stead in their exams and future studies. I start at the level at which the student feels comfortable before progressing to greater difficulty, making sure the student fully grasps each stage. I teach up to University level Chemistry and Biology, and up to Leaving Certificate level Physics and Maths. I am happy to tutor one-on-one or in groups, online or in person. The typical length of a lesson is one hour.

Deadly! Katrina was amazing in helping me ramp up my knowledge of Organic Chemistry. Through weekly tutoring sessions where we walked through concepts and problems, she made what appeared to be a daunting amount of information understandable and digestible. Overall, with Katrina's help and guidance I was able to complete my Organic Chemistry module, and I would highly recommend her for any tutoring you may require.
