  • 1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

    1. In high school, scientific subjects especially biology and chemistry drew my attention, and after mastering them, I began to help my peers understand complex topics. Surprisingly, I started getting requests for private tutoring from their parents, even though I had no experience. Funny thing is, the more I taught, the happier I was, rather than feeling tired. That made me realize tutoring was my biggest passion. Another thing that kept me going happily was seeing my peers improve their marks by 50%, which gave me strong confidence at an early age This intense interest in science got me completely immersed in the idea that I could save lives by having the knowledge of how the human body works. Additionally, a good doctor in the family is never extra, right? :))

After becoming a student at medical university, I was chosen to teach complex subjects because of my good grades and involvement in voluntary tutoring activities. My students achieved more than they ever expected and had zero failure rates after just a few lessons.
  • 2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

    2. Can’t help but hate anatomy and hopefully many people will agree (it’s the worst!). It’s a strong word, but someone would say I'm a fan of medical biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, physiology, pathology, and pharmacology, because in these subjects, there are so many molecular mechanisms that are simply adorable. It feels awesome to explain them to students, so if I sound too excited when talking about those topics, at least now you know why. :)
  • 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

    3. To be honest, my biochemistry teacher had a massive impact on my passion for tutoring medical subjects. He helped me see all these complex mechanisms in an even easier way than I had before. Additionally, after he saw how passionate I was about the subject, he gave me the idea to become a medical tutor later.
  • 4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

    4. The first quality, in my opinion, is adaptability and communication skills. Beginner tutors frequently focus on just improving explanation skills and knowledge, which are extremely crucial. However, since each person is an individual, you never know what they actually require from you, so that's where adaptability and clear communication are needed. Moreover, the ability to create an environment that is friendly and fun determines the focus levels of listeners, so from my perspective, dry lessons are a waste of time. Finally, I would say passion for teaching is the biggest game-changer, since it automatically brings out the best qualities of tutors.
  • 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

    5. In high school, one of my first successful teaching experiences was when I had to help my best friend pass a chemistry exam. He needed my help urgently, so I quickly created an 8-page summary covering the entire chemistry syllabus in just half an hour. I gave it to him and told him to read it three times. After going through it multiple times, he ended up getting one of the best results in the whole class. That was definitely my biggest confidence booster.
  • 6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

    6. In medical subjects, the biggest difficulty anyone can come across is finding a source that covers everything in detail but is still compact and easy to read. While gaining experience in teaching, I developed a strategy where I extract material from different sources, making sure it includes all the important content and is delivered in a simple, understandable way.
  • 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

    7. My passion is understanding how each process happens on a molecular level and being able to integrate that knowledge into practical life. Naturally, medical subjects that explore these mechanisms fulfill this passion and allow me to deliver information with genuine energy and enthusiasm.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof (besides answering this interview questions :-P)?

    8. What makes me a Superprof is my ability to adapt to each student and provide energetic and fun lessons. I’ve been teaching since high school, which helped me gain experience that now reflects in my ability to be more effective in a shorter amount of time. My tutoring is not just about delivering facts in a simple way, but about actually helping the student deeply perceive all details and it makes the learning process significantly easier.
