About Andre
My name is Andre. I completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in July 2024 and have begun my undergraduate studies at the University of Warwick, where I am pursuing an Economics degree.
I achieved 42 points and attained an academic distinction in Business Management.
I have experience tutoring family members and friends. I also led study sessions during secondary school and taught various other students content throughout the IB (an alternative to A-levels). I understand the large flaws and weaknesses of classical education that schools tend to have, and I hope to fill that gap and help students achieve their best.
To me, teaching is more than ensuring students know their content; it also means ensuring they can apply it under examination circumstances. A key principle to guarantee students can perform under pressure is to develop comfort under their key topics and content. This can be done during our tutoring lessons through a deep and established understanding of theories and techniques and experience with difficult questions to improve their confidence.

I focus on ensuring students don't simply memorise the content they learn at school but understand it fully and can apply new techniques and theories to different situations, enhancing their ability to perform under pressure.
Typical lessons last one hour. During lessons, the student and I cover content they don't fully comprehend, discuss it in detail, and apply it to real-world situations.
In mathematics, I like to ensure students understand the rationale behind the applications and methodologies they learn. Students and I will go through challenging questions and work together so that students can develop an analytical approach of someone more experienced.
Students are given around 30 minutes of homework to develop independent problem-solving skills and critical thinking when appropriate.
