About Charlotte
After working at the IFE in Paris (Internships in Francophone Europe), I worked as a preschool and primary school teacher for 10 years. in France first, and in Chicago (French School, Winnetka). In France I worked with children from Petite Section (nursery school) to CM2 (5th grade-KS2). In Chicago, I worked in a French total immersion school, where French was not the learners’ native language. Over there I worked with the Petite Section, Moyenne Section and CP/CE1 (1st grade and 2nd grade). I also have experience working with adults, in private or small groups classes.

Bonjour! I am Charlotte. I am originally from France (Paris). I have been living in London for two years. I have a Master's Degree in French as a Foreign Language and I hold a teaching diploma (Professeur des Ecoles) from the French Ministry of Education. In 2015 I decided to move to London to pursue my passion : I am now also a proud MFA graduate student from East 15 Acting school and beginning a new career as an actress. Today, I seem to have found a good balance between my two passions : teaching and acting.
My approach is more task-based. I believe that my students learn best when actively engaged in what they are doing/saying.
I can adapt my lesson plan to my students’ needs.
From organising a cooking class to role plays (like preparing a job interview), writing stories/poetry, creating artwork, using games, or using a more traditional, formal approach to teaching (grammar / literature-based) I am always trying to find what will best trigger my students’ attention to make them learn and progress faster. All my lesson plans, no matter what form they take, aim at targeting specific linguistic knowledge. I can also help with homework / reinforcing what you have learned already, help you get ready for an exam or help you build on your conversational skills in French.
