About Alan

My name is Alan. I’m an artist and it’s what I’ve always loved to do. It’s my passion and I’ve always found that meeting people who are new to art have always told me they never knew they could do it or they never knew how easy it is to start.
My favourite medium is watercolours but that’s followed closely by drawing with pens or pencils etc.
I’m a cartoonist. I find cartoons so much fun to design. There are so many different types of cartoons as well which makes it a surprisingly broad subject.
I’m a landscape artist, I primarily work on landscapes in the medium of acrylic paints although I also enjoy watercolour landscapes.
I’ve amassed a wide range of techniques and I’d love to share those with people who share an enthusiasm and excitement about art.

About the lesson

My approach to lessons is very practical. Starting by demonstrations in which I explain every step and give useful notes so that you can come back to it. Then we progress to a guided exercise where you try the method I've just demonstrated with some feedback. It’s important to know the more you practice, the better the results so I have a progressive exercise plan that gradually scales up in difficulty and tests the techniques and skills we’ve worked on.
I’m very passionate about my art and the specific techniques I hope to teach which I think will add significantly to the lessons.
I have worked up plans for each of the subjects I offer and no matter what your level we’ll be able to accurately assess where on my plan we should begin.
The point of my lessons is to make art as accessible as possible. It’s a wonderful creative outlet to have and I'd love to help even one person start that journey.
I’m proficient in my craft and would love to help as many others as possible.
