About Alma
With over 2 years of tutoring and an MSc in Radiochemistry, I bring both expertise and enthusiasm to Chemistry. I specialise in food chemistry and nutritional science, areas where Chemistry connects directly to health and cooking. In my lessons, students explore macromolecules, additives, and metabolic pathways. I ensure they not only memorise these topics but also understand their importance in real diets and foods. I also guide students through dietary analysis and food product design projects. Cooking processes such as fermentation, browning, and flavour development provide practical examples of Chemistry in action. My teaching style is supportive and interactive. I break down challenging ideas into easy steps, making lessons clear and enjoyable. Chemistry is the science of life and food. Learning with me will give you both exam readiness and practical insights into healthy living.

In teaching Chemistry, I focus on simplifying complexity. Organic chemistry introduces students to many new terms and structures, but I use a systematic approach to guide them. Nomenclature, functional groups, and isomerism are taught in a way that emphasises clarity. Once these are understood, reaction mechanisms and synthesis become easier to follow. Lessons are interactive and visual. I use structural models, diagrams, and real-world analogies to explain abstract ideas. Each step is carefully broken down so no concept feels out of reach. I provide detailed feedback that highlights strengths while addressing areas to improve. Learners aiming for environmental or marine science fields find my lessons particularly useful. With me, students don’t just learn chemistry; they learn to think logically and apply knowledge. Together, we’ll create a strong foundation that prepares them for both exams and future opportunities.
