About Morgan Michelle

I am an honor student in the third year of my BSSESB degree program: Bachelor of Science in Science Education Secondary Biological Sciences at Western Governors University. This includes seeking initial California state teaching credentials in middle school general science education and any high school biological science. My specialties include Biology, Anatomy and Physiology. I concurrently take graduate classes at the Smithsonian Science Education Center and Harvard and Cambridge Universities graduate schools of education online. I can provide multiple verified certifications in such classes as: AP Physiology, Learning and Teaching from the Perspective of the Brain, The Science of Teaching Science and many other Pedagogical courses (teaching methodologies) scoring 90%+ in advanced molecular biology, cellular physiology, and all pedagogy classes. I'm currently enrolled in biochemistry via Harvard, and systemic physiology classes via Queensland University. Additionally, I have completed several documented professional development classes through such institutions as CTA the California Teachers Association partnered with NEA the National Educators Association, and NSTA the National Science Teachers Association. All institutions have helped to create and set the state and national learning and achievement standards for science curriculum across all grade levels. My priority is to impact students' lives by helping to develop their scientific skills and conceptual understanding of concepts that increase their success in furthering their education or employment goals. As a future educator, I have taken additional efforts to study the most up-to-date Pedagogical research, learning the most effective tools to teach and implement steady progression throughout the most rigorous subjects. As a student I have faced and overcome many obstacles to my own learning and gained those tools and experiences to share with my students. Ensuring I have a strong foundation to structure a mentoring relationship and build trust upon with each of my students. As a mother, I know how high I prioritized my children's education and how powerless and filled with fear a parent gets when they see their child struggling in school. I engage with parents and have an open-door policy with all stakeholders involved with my students. As myself, I want nothing more than to put parents' minds at ease by giving them a sense that they have placed their child and their learning needs in the hands of someone who is more than capable of teaching them the skills they need to succeed and values education the same as you do. I am recognized as an active member in the following organizations: NSTA - the national science teachers association, SCTA - the student California teachers association, KDP Kappa Delta Pi - the international honor society for teachers, and NSLS - the national honor society for leadership and success.

About the lesson

Before our first session I like to establish goals with both parents and students based on student and school needs as well as any class specific or homework requirements. So that during our first lesson we waste no time and begin addressing your child's specific needs. I can help you complete your homework assignments, while teaching you the tools needed to raise your grades and increase your skill level in class. If specific topics or concepts are too challenging that you can't keep up with your class, I can teach you any science topic. Either using your own textbook or I can create individualized engaging lessons that will make learning fun while building specific skill sets, developing your higher-level critical thinking skills as you learn each topic, or we can do a combination of both individualized lessons and using your textbook from class. Either way I will lead you to a better grade in class by increasing your comprehension of all things science. This will help raise your homework scores and improve your test scores as well. I'm skilled at taking difficult, sometimes overwhelming science concepts breaking them down into smaller, more manageable lessons, making confusing topics 100% more comprehensible. I teach one section at a time until my students have it mastered completely before moving on.
