About Blair
I am a singing tutor with over 10 years of experience and hold a Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice. My passion lies in ear training, harmony, melody, and the transformative power of music to inspire and connect. I teach a wide variety of styles, including classical, pop, jazz, blues, and movie singing, helping students explore their full vocal potential. My lessons focus on vocal training, music theory, sight singing, and performance techniques, tailored to each learner’s goals and abilities. I work with school students, college learners, and aspiring professionals, creating lessons that balance skill-building with creativity. Improvisation, composition, and music history are woven into lessons to deepen understanding and foster artistry. I also integrate music technology to enhance practice, track progress, and explore new ways of expressing musical ideas. My singing methodology focuses on versatility, helping learners master multiple genres like classical, pop, and jazz. I guide each singer to adapt vocal techniques, pitch control, and musicality to suit different styles.
For the church ensemble player, lessons emphasize blending, harmonies, and expressive delivery within group settings. I focus on supporting their individual tone while ensuring a cohesive ensemble sound. For the crossover artist, the goal is flexibility, exploring genre transitions, stylistic nuances, and dynamic performance skills.
Breath control, resonance, and phrasing are practiced in ways tailored to each genre. I incorporate exercises that strengthen vocal agility and sustain pitch accuracy under different stylistic demands. Modern technology such as DAWs, metronomes, and pitch training apps is used to track progress and refine technique.
Students record themselves, practice with backing tracks, and monitor pitch and timing for steady improvement. Lessons balance technical drills with creative exploration, encouraging confident, expressive singing.
