About Lisa
Bonjour, I am a University of Cambridge PhD student, and French is my first language. I offer:
1. French lessons (at any level, from complete beginner to advanced perfectionism) with a tailored combination of writing, reading or speaking.
2. French to English/ English to French translation (Academic, business and professional levels).
I have a wealth of experience in the French system, having been educated in the French system until I was 18. I graduated from a prestigious French high school with the highest distinction where I specialised in literature, political science, and philosophy.
I am currently completing my PhD in Psychology at the University of Cambridge where I have been working as a researcher for the past two years, after having received my undergraduate and graduate degrees from University College London.

=> In French lessons for less experienced student, I will provide tailored exercises and oral practices that best fit your learning style (for example vignettes and pictograms for visual learners, story lines for tutees who enjoy exposure to the cultural context around a language, or role plays for conversational perfectionism at any level adapted to your field of profession).
I frequently heard from students in the English school system that they regret the foreign language classes are not fit for the real world, focus too much on grammar and vocabulary, and not enough on oral skills, cultural subtleties and expressions that make the difference between someone who appears fluent and comprehensible, and someone struggling to be understood in the foreign language. I put a lot of effort in ensuring that my lessons are not only producing fast results in your language skills, but are also engaging and fun. Most importantly, our lessons will be built and adapted around your level and needs.
=> For translation work, my academic background in scientific research, social sciences, and humanities allows me to offer fluid and trusted translations in French or English. I conduct my translation with close attention to detail and to a high standard. My understanding of the subtleties and professional, elegant phrasings in either language means that your important message will not get lost in translation.
