Hi! I’m a singing tutor with over 10 years of experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Vocal Studies. I specialize in helping students explore genres like R\&B, Soul, Acoustic Pop, and Contemporary Christian music. My teaching blends traditional vocal techniques with modern technology. I use DAWs, vocal processors, and studio mics to prepare students for real-world studio recording and songwriting. We focus on lyric interpretation to bring songs to life and work deeply on tone shaping, harmonies, and phrasing to create unique, expressive performances. Whether you’re a hobbyist who loves singing for fun or an aspiring recording artist aiming to polish your sound, I tailor lessons to fit your goals. As a Church Ensemble Player, the focus is on blending seamlessly within harmonies while maintaining vocal clarity and spiritual expression. Mastering pitch control and breath support is essential to lead or support worship with confidence. The Crossover Artist, on the other hand, thrives on versatility—shifting effortlessly between classical precision, pop expressiveness, and the rich improvisation of jazz. Both personas must develop a deep understanding of vocal placement, tone color, and dynamic control tailored to each genre.
Training begins with foundational techniques like diaphragmatic breathing and vowel shaping. From there, singers explore stylistic nuances—legato for classical, belting for pop, and scatting or phrasing for jazz. Metronomes and DAWs help maintain rhythm and refine timing, while pitch-training apps ensure tonal accuracy across registers. Repertoire is carefully selected to challenge and expand genre fluency.
Each session blends ear training, vocal warm-ups, and genre-specific drills to build musicality and adaptability. Technology plays a crucial role in progress tracking, allowing singers to record, analyze, and reflect on their growth. Whether harmonizing in a sacred space or performing across genres, the goal is the same: authenticity, control, and artistic expression.
