About Ander

Hi, I’m a singing tutor with over ten years of experience and a Licentiate of Music in Voice. I specialize in working with adult beginners, hobbyists, and those returning to singing after a long break. My goal is to create a welcoming, low-pressure space where learning feels joyful and encouraging. In our sessions, we focus on breathwork, vocal relaxation, posture, and mindfulness to help your voice feel free and supported. I believe tone development is not about pushing—it’s about awareness, balance, and trust in your unique sound. Whether you love Jazz, Folk, Blues, or Contemporary Adult styles, I tailor each lesson to suit your goals and musical taste. Many of my students come to singing as a form of self-care or a creative outlet. Watching them grow in confidence and expression is what I love most about teaching. I’m here to guide you gently, whether you're starting from scratch or picking up where you left off. It’s never too late to discover the joy of singing. About the lesson

For *The Soloist in Training* and *The Church Ensemble Player*, vocal wellness begins with mindfulness and joy. Start each session with gentle humming or lip trills to ease the voice into motion. Prioritize full-body awareness—use stretches and posture resets to align the breath and body. Hydration is key; sip water consistently throughout the day, not just during practice.

Warm-ups should be simple but effective: descending sirens, light scales, and vowel focus exercises to ensure healthy vocal placement. Soloists can add agility drills, while ensemble singers may focus on blend and resonance matching. Always listen to your body—if fatigue sets in, pause and reset with mindful breathing.

Use guided breathwork apps like *Breathwrk* or *Pranayama* to steady the mind and release tension. For tracking vocal practice and goals, apps like *Vocalist Lite* or *Voice Tools* help monitor progress gently. Mindfulness timers such as *Insight Timer* can center your attention before singing, turning practice into a calm ritual.
