About Lumi

I’ve been teaching guitar for 7 years while actively performing and composing music. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Composition with a Guitar Emphasis, which shapes my approach to teaching as both creative and lifelong. My focus is mainly on acoustic fingerstyle and classical guitar, where I help students explore intricate arrangements and detailed musical expression. I work with beginners just starting their journey as well as advanced musicians refining their skills. My lessons are designed to nurture a genuine love for the guitar and its rich possibilities. I emphasize nuance, tone, and phrasing, encouraging each student to find their unique voice. For me, music is more than notes on a page—it’s a form of self-expression that grows deeper with time. I support my students in developing both technical skill and emotional connection to their playing. Together, we work on building solid technique while fostering creativity. Whether you want to master complex pieces or create your own compositions, I’m here to guide and inspire. My goal is to help you enjoy every step of your musical journey and develop a lifelong passion for guitar.

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on developing strong ear training skills that are essential for every guitarist. I guide students through transcribing songs, melodic dictation, and interval recognition to help them understand music on a deeper level. These skills unlock new ways to connect with melodies and harmonies without relying solely on sheet music.

I work especially well with The Campfire Strummer and The Blues Seeker—students eager to learn songs by ear and improve their musical intuition. Together, we practice dedicated exercises designed to sharpen aural skills and boost confidence.

Lessons are paced to suit each student’s level, ensuring steady progress without overwhelm. I support students as they learn to identify intervals, pick out melodies, and recognize patterns in music. This training helps them play with more feeling and freedom.

You’ll soon find yourself naturally hearing and reproducing tunes, making your playing more expressive and creative. My goal is to help you become a more intuitive musician who listens deeply and plays with heart. With patience and practice, your ear will become one of your strongest tools.
