About Ezra
I am a singing tutor with over 10 years of experience and a Bachelor of Contemporary Music, specializing in voice. I work closely with students preparing for auditions, competitions, and stage performances, helping them reach their full potential. My teaching covers a range of styles, including Classical, Broadway, Pop-Rock, and Music Theater. I focus on essential skills such as diction, range development, vocal agility, and repertoire selection. Dramatic interpretation is a key part of my lessons, enabling students to connect deeply with their songs and audiences. I have experience teaching school students, drama majors, and adult singers returning to music after a break. Each lesson is tailored to individual needs, combining technique building with creative expression. I believe that strong technique and confident stage presence go hand in hand. Together, we work on vocal artistry that shines both in the studio and on stage. My goal is to help you build a solid foundation and perform with passion and authenticity. My singing approach is designed to help students prepare confidently for auditions and build a strong vocal portfolio. I focus on smart song selection, choosing pieces that match your vocal tone and showcase your strengths. Controlled dynamics play a big role, helping you express emotion and hold the listener’s attention.
For students preparing seriously, vocal agility exercises are essential. These exercises improve flexibility and control, which are important for hitting challenging notes and styles. I also use mock auditions to simulate real performance conditions, helping reduce anxiety and build stage presence.
Diversity in genres is encouraged to expand your range and adaptability. Whether you lean towards classical, contemporary, or musical theatre, exploring different styles strengthens your skills. I recommend practical tools like backing track apps for practice, lyric trainers to improve memorization, and pitch analyzers to keep your intonation sharp.
