About Yukta

I am a student pursuing MA (Hons.) French and have been teaching French through Tuitions since past 5 years. It has been an overwhelming experience for me. Teaching someone is like being a student all over again. I've taught many students from CBSE, IGCSE, and IB Boards so far along with several people who wanted to learn basic French communication skills or students who were DELF seekers : DELF A1/A2/B1/B2 as well as DELF PRIM for primary level students.

About the lesson

Being a language learner myself, I know how difficult it can get to memorize all the grammar rules and to keep up with the new vocabulary you learn. Therefore, I teach my students all the tactics that I've been using to ease their learning process. I also like to come up with new ideas in order to make learning fun for children and keep them motivated which includes role plays, movie screenings, etc. I teach all French learners, be it beginners wanting to learn from scratch, French-speakers wanting to perfect the language or students wishing to obtain diplomas like DELF A1/A2/B1/B2 or other professional qualifications, as well as students from classes 4th to 12th under CBSE board, or students from IB or other boards as well. Her teaching methodology involves using lot of props like audio/video recordings, pictures, activities like match the column etc. She is very good in engaging kids in the subject. Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
For me, French language is not only a subject, but, it has become a part of my life. A day without reading something in this language feels incomplete. And as far as how did I develop an interest in this field, I'd say it is because of my teacher. He was such an amazing teacher that I fell in love with this language. And now I miss being his student :(
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
First motivation I'd say was 'Money'; as I come from a financially unstable family and needed to earn money to pay my tuition fee at college. But as I started teaching I actually started enjoying it. Looking at all those innocent and beautiful kids, this is what motivates me to teach and teach better each day <33.
How does your work help society?
I believe education is the best contribution one can make to build a better society. Helping children shape their future, taking them a step further towards their brighter selves is what I believe is necessary as an educator. Keeping them engaged and involved in learning and then motivating and guiding them to apply it in their lives is my true job.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
It has to be my own teachers of course who led me to where I stand today. If it weren't for their push, I'd never would have thought about taking up teaching. So yes, they are my role models and I look up to them and wish I make them proud one day.
Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
So being a language student myself, other than teaching, I love studying!! And well, studying these days has evolved a lot. It is no more the old conventional way of studying via only books. These days we have movies, songs and several videos to learn. Apart from this I love to exercise and keep myself physically active among this sedantary life.
Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
Yes, I have plenty ;)

So while we are students, we have a nickname for all our teachers. Sometimes it reflects their qualities, but most of the times it's the other way round 😅 Back then we had no idea how must the teachers feel about it. But now when I hear things about myself, both good as well as bad, I realize, being a teacher is a tough job. The level of patience and love we need to handle children can't be expressed. Although it can be overwhelming and tiring sometimes, but I love what I'm doing.

P.S. I love it when my children praise me and my teaching. It just makes my day so much happier and accomplished <3
