About Calla
I am a Maths tutor with over 5 years of experience and a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science. I focus on helping students improve their mathematical communication and exposition skills. I guide learners in explaining complex concepts clearly and writing coherent mathematical arguments. Presenting solutions effectively is another key aspect of my teaching. I have worked with students on university essays, research papers, and academic presentations. My lessons emphasise clarity, structure, and logical flow. I use examples, step-by-step explanations, and interactive discussions to make abstract ideas understandable. I encourage students to ask questions and think critically about each problem. Each session is tailored to the student’s pace and goals. I aim to build both skill and confidence in expressing mathematical ideas. Together, we turn challenging concepts into clear, approachable knowledge. My goal is to help students communicate maths with precision and assurance. I teach Maths with warmth, interaction, and a storytelling approach that makes numbers come alive. My lessons are especially designed for students struggling with maths anxiety or needing a fresh perspective. Each session is tailored to the student’s pace and learning style. I emphasise understanding over memorisation, helping learners see the logic behind formulae and calculations. Maths becomes not just a subject, but a tool for thinking and problem-solving. My goal is to make maths fun, relatable, and deeply engaging. Students leave sessions motivated, confident, and ready to tackle any problem.
