Superprof is free to use and to get a tutor all you need to do is to make a free account with us. If you’re just interested in the service, no account is necessary to see our huge range of tutors and their skills and pricing.

Why should I get a maths tutor?

For some, maths can be an easy subject but for many people, be they students or adults, maths can be a very tricky subject to master. But Maths is not only tricky, but it is also a very useful subject that comes into use in real life, getting good grades and even progressing your studies or career. Having a good understanding and basis of maths is very important and is a skill that won’t go to waste.

Tutoring from home

Despite the pandemic, there are still exams to be studied for and classes to pass, Superprof and its tutors are still here to help with that. All of our tutors are available via webcam, meaning that no matter where you are in the country you can find the perfect tutor for you and benefit from their help and advice from the comfort of your own home.

Our tutors give online help via webcam which means, even though the physical presence aspect is gone, lessons can still have a feeling of personalisation and friendliness. Much better than hearing just a voice through a screen!

Advantages of being tutored online

With distance no longer being a problem, you can now find the perfect tutor that suits your criteria without being worried about how long it will take to travel to them and vice versa.

Another advantage of not having to travel is time and cost. Now it's easier than ever to fit in an hour or two of extra study into your day, setting up your computer/phone and connecting to the internet is much easier and faster than putting time aside for a commute. Not having to drive or take public transport also means you get to save money, many of our tutors also have cheaper rates per hour for online tutoring compared to their in-person rates!

Now is the perfect time to start getting some extra help and revision. If you aren’t sure that you would like online tutoring, our tutors offer the first lesson for free. Now you can see what works for you and if you’re happy with your tutor without worrying about the expense.

The Leaving and Junior Cert

One of the best times to get a maths tutor is in preparation for exams and the Leaving and Junior cert are the biggest of a secondary school student’s career. Many 6th year students aim to do further study, either a Bachelors or PLC course and to be able to get into these courses, having a certain number of points is necessary. Having a good and thorough understanding of maths, but also a good understanding of what the maths exams are like can make your life less stressful and can allow you to reach the points that you need and to allow you to follow the path that you want. Many of our tutors have experienced the LC maths exam and there are even some who have taught the subject either at secondary or third level, with their help and guidance you can truly prepare yourself and increase your knowledge so that you can do your absolute best and get a good result.

The Junior cert may not have such high stakes as the Leaving, but nonetheless, it is still an important exam period and provides the foundation of good study techniques as well as a good understanding of subjects that will be continued to be studied in Leaving Cert.  Getting a tutor who can give in-depth explanations of concepts and provide one to one assistance can payoff not only now but also for the future.

Our tutors

We have a diverse and well-skilled, mix of tutors on our website for you to choose from. To find out the backgrounds of our tutors you can access their profiles and see things such as their teaching methodology, their experience in teaching and their own personal experiences and studies with Maths. Their rates per lesson and sometimes CVs can be found too with an in-depth view of their backgrounds. It is also possible to view all of the reviews made for a particular tutor.

On the side panel of the tutor profile, you can see if they have been verified by us. Other information on this side panel that can be easily seen at a glance is their response time to messages, how and where the lessons will be held, what subjects are taught and at what levels. Our easy to use and clear website means you won’t have any difficulty finding a tutor for you.
