About Aoife

The one thing you should know about me is that I am incredibly enthusiastic and passionate about teaching - my number one goal is to empower my students to find confidence in their abilities. Through my own (long) journey in the education system, I have great understanding of the challenges that students face at every level, and am now in the privileged position to be able to bring my knowledge and expertise to guide and help students through their own journey. It brings me immense joy to be able to help students to understand and succeed in their studies. I believe that patience and fostering a non-judgmental learning environment is the key to helping students who are struggling at any level to find confidence. I know that STEM subjects - especially mathematics - can be quite challenging and can feel overwhelming to grasp. Through my own learning and teaching experience, I have seen time and time again with my own students that they can see great improvements in their own understanding (and hence grades) with the right support and guidance. It’s incredibly rewarding to see my students develop not just academically, but also in their self-belief. I’m here to support you every step of the way and help you realize your full potential!

I specialise in hands-on learning that helps university students and adult learners bridge foundational knowledge gaps, making complex topics more approachable—particularly in maths, statistics, physics and programming. My tutoring sessions are fully tailored to your course syllabus, assignments, and academic goals. Whether you're preparing for exams or tackling coursework, I offer:

Personalised Study Plans – I’ll work with your course materials to create a learning strategy that suits your pace and priorities.
Assignment Support – Get clear, detailed feedback and guidance to ensure your work is accurate and well-structured.
Exam Preparation – Learn effective exam techniques, review past papers, and build confidence with mock exams and focused study strategies.
Mental Wellbeing & Focus – I know how stressful studying can be, so I offer practical techniques to help manage stress, stay motivated, and keep a clear head.

With years of experience supporting students through academic challenges, I’m here to help you succeed- not just academically, but mentally too!

Lesson Length
Sessions are typically 60-90 minutes, depending on what suits you best.

Qualifications & Experience
PhD in Astrophysics from Trinity College Dublin.
9+ years of teaching experience at Trinity College & Maynooth University.
6+ years as a University Tutor, teaching advanced maths (calculus, linear algebra) and statistics.
Co-founder & Lead Educator at CodifyDublin, designing and delivering programming workshops in Python and Data Science for 4 years.
Former Machine Learning Researcher at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), where I mentored Master’s students and taught doctoral-level courses.
