About Dennis
I’m a professional vocal coach with over 10 years of experience guiding singers to discover, refine, and elevate their voices. My work is grounded in vocal health and functional technique, but also deeply rooted in expression, individuality, and joy. I help students of all levels—from beginners to working artists—gain control of their voice while developing the confidence to share their sound with intention and pride. Lessons begin with vocal mechanics: posture, breath support, phonation efficiency, vocal resonance, and register work. From there, we focus on musical storytelling—how to interpret a lyric, shape a phrase, connect with an audience, and perform with presence. I draw from my background in musical theater, pop performance, and acoustic vocal arranging to provide diverse, genre-sensitive coaching. My studio includes recording equipment and digital tools to help students assess their progress and build a strong sense of vocal awareness. We also cover musicianship training, including pitch matching, rhythm, harmony, and stylistic phrasing. I help students prepare for all kinds of musical experiences: auditions, recitals, showcases, studio recordings, or simply singing with more freedom in daily life. I also support songwriting, demo production, and vocal branding for emerging artists. What fuels my teaching is the belief that your voice is already powerful—it’s just waiting to be heard, understood, and fully expressed. My role is to help you get there with structure, encouragement, and a deep respect for your unique artistic identity.

In my 10 years as a vocal coach, I’ve worked with students at every level—from total beginners to advanced performers—and what I’ve learned is this: every voice has its own rhythm, texture, and emotional language. My job is to help you understand and embrace your voice, refine your technique,
and use music as a vehicle for self-expression.
Our lessons begin with vocal fundamentals—supportive breathing, tone alignment, vocal placement, and articulation—tailored to your vocal anatomy and goals. I use a wide range of tools and methods, including warm-up protocols, vowel mapping, resonance tuning, and pitch accuracy training, to build a healthy and agile voice. Once the technical groundwork is in place, we apply those skills to the music you love. Whether it’s musical theatre, indie-pop, R&B, or folk, I help you interpret songs with nuance, emotion, and musicality. We look at phrasing, lyrical intention, dynamic expression, and even character-building if you're preparing for a theatrical performance. I integrate modern tools like pitch visualizers, video feedback, guided warm-ups, and student-created vocal logs to support practice between sessions. I also emphasize vocal health and injury prevention—lessons include discussions around hydration, vocal fatigue, rehearsal pacing, and long-term vocal care.
For students pursuing auditions or preparing for live performances, I offer comprehensive coaching in material selection, memorization strategies, physicality, and emotional preparedness. I strive to create a learning environment that is welcoming, flexible, and empowering, where every student feels safe to experiment, make mistakes, and celebrate breakthroughs. My approach is not one-size-fits-all—it’s a partnership where we work together to uncover what makes your voice unique and how to bring that to life in every song you sing.
