About Ellen
I bring over 9 years of experience as a mathematics tutor and hold a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics. I work closely with students preparing for IB and A-Level mathematics exams. My lessons are centered on clarity and logical understanding. Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics are areas I specialize in, but I also support across the full syllabus. I encourage students to explore problems from multiple perspectives. This not only improves problem-solving skills but also develops adaptability. Past paper practice plays a major role in my sessions, helping students get comfortable with exam conditions. I break down solutions step by step, ensuring students grasp both the method and reasoning. Building a strong foundation is always my priority. Once that is in place, tackling advanced questions becomes far less intimidating. I keep my lessons interactive and supportive to ensure steady progress. My teaching style is systematic and carefully designed. I begin with algebraic foundations, making sure students feel confident before moving into calculus. My strength as a Future Actuary and Problem Solver helps me present multiple strategies to solve problems. Past paper practice is used regularly to prepare students for exam success. I provide tailored guidance that ensures every concept is fully understood. My lessons focus on deep learning, not just surface memorization. Students are encouraged to ask, explore, and test ideas.
