About Péter
My name is Peter, I'm an undergraduate student at Imperial College London studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
I teach a few different STEM subjects in my time away from university both because I enjoy teaching and as bonus income.
I believe a good teacher is the difference between someone hating or enjoying a subject and since I feel passionate about the subjects I teach I strive to be the good teacher who makes that difference.
The main reason I enjoy teaching is because it is a unique challenge that requires knowledge about both the subject I'm teaching and about people, which are two of the things that I find most interesting.

I teach differently depending on the goals of the student and the subject.
Typical lesson length is 1 hour. In my experince younger kids lose a lot of attention around that point if not earlier so there is no point in going longer. With older students we can go up to 1.5 hours but I'm not a huge fan of long sessions in one go.
Maths:
If the goal is a decent grade in an exam and no further understanding of the subject the lessons are mostly about refining mechanical skills, accuracy and teaching tricks that simplify or speed up problem solving.
If there is an intention to explore a little bit then I have a good amount of experience with harder, more theoretical problems since I attended a school specialised in mathematics during high school.
Physics:
My physics lessons usually start with a theoretical explanation of the topic we are covering that lesson and I follow up with exercises and problem sets connected to the topic. I include lots of drawing and visual examples as in my experience that helps students recall the explanations later on. I also like asking lots of questions when solving the problems so I notice any gaps in knowledge.
I've tutored 3 long-term students before at GCSE and A level difficulty. I currently have 1 maths/physics student, I'm open to giving a few taster sessions to decide if I can work well with the student, but I havent had any complaints or compatibility problems so far.
