NUIG, the central university in Galway, has an excellent reputation in Ireland and abroad for its education in medicine. In fact, many students come internationally to study in Galway. This is a clear indicator of the quality of NUIG’s courses. Unfortunately, Galway is quite expensive and accommodation can be hard to find. Furthermore, because medicine is so popular and high-quality in Galway, you’ll have to study and work hard to get yourself a spot. However, that will be good preparation for the notoriously hard courses.
There are a few signs to finding out if you’re the right type of person to study medicine. Firstly, medicine is a highly collaborative field and so if you’re unable to communicate your problems efficiently or are equally unable to ask for help then you may run into problems when you study medicine. After all, every doctor has to rely on their nurses and helping hands to do their job effectively and nurses have to communicate effectively between themselves to do their job. This is just a small snippet of why communication is so important in medicine. Secondly, you have to be empathetic, If you’re unable to emphasise with patients or do not have a lot of emotional intelligence then you simply won’t make a good medical professional. It's the foundation of the field. Thirdly, you have to have excellent observational skills, every detail is important in medicine and it can be the difference between life and death. It’s not something that should be taken lightly and when it’s your shift, it will be your responsibility to make sure you’re focused. Lastly, if you want to succeed in medicine, you have to be confident in your abilities or at least develop that confidence through study and practice. However, if you’re unable to develop that confidence you can see why that might be a problem, no one wants a nervous surgeon operating on them.
Tutors aren’t for everyone and that’s a simple fact however, a lot of people could benefit from having one. Tutors aren’t there to teach you the entire course, they are there as a supplement or aide to the course. This means a tutor may be of use if any of these things apply to you: You aren’t getting the grades you want in exams and tests, you are struggling to understand the material, you lack discipline when it comes to study/revision or you simply need some guidance on how to tackle medicine. A tutor can help with all these things and more. Superprof has such a large database of tutors too, so you may even find a tutor for your specific sub-category of medicine! So, if you want to do well, and you feel like all you need is a little push or help, a tutor may be able to help you.
Tutors don’t have to break the bank either when it comes to lessons. NUIG is expensive enough as it is and let’s not even talk about the price of rent in Galway. If you need help but you don’t want to break the bank, then a tutor can absolutely help you. Tutors select their own prices and offer only as many lessons as they need. This means that you can stick well within your budget without any unexpected costs. A tutor also provides a far more personal environment and feeling than any professor could. When you choose a Superprof tutor you are guaranteed quality, comfort and productivity! If the first lesson doesn’t work out, it’s not an issue either as the first lesson is often free with Superprof tutors and you’ll be able to find an alternative quickly.
There are tutors of all types in Galway and Superprof makes it extremely easy to find them all. You can sort by prices, online lessons, proximity and many other factors. Simply put in medicine or whatever you’d like to study along with a location or online. By doing this, you’ve completed the first and hardest step in improving your academic life! From there, simply filter and sort according to your liking and once you find an ideal tutor, send them a message!
