Our Physics tutors in Galway are happy to help students from all levels, either in secondary school for Junior to Leaving Cert levels or even university students. No matter the case that fits yours, you can expect to go through some basic theory so that you can properly understand the basics and foundations of your syllabus.
Many of our tutors like to ask the student what their learning goals are, so depending on what your particular difficulty is or what you hope to learn and improve on, the tutor will place lots of focus on that and will help you to learn those topics and reach those goals by going through theory and making sure that you understand it by explaining difficult concepts and providing intuitive examples. Practice questions will also be done throughout so that you can apply your knowledge to actual examples.
The point of grinds isn’t to learn off everything, but instead to actually learn and understand the content so that even if you came across a question that you don’t recognise in an exam, you should have the required knowledge to be able to understand what it’s asking for and to work it out.
We have just over 10 tutors who are currently providing grinds in Physics in and around Galway. There is a good mix of graduates and current students who have a passion for science subjects and Physics as well as many having an expertise and focus in maths.
Most of the tutors here, happily provide either online classes or face to face ones so you have lots of choice and flexibility as to how you want to do your grinds. Online classes have the advantage of being more flexible, no need to spend time travelling to and fro and so it's easier to fit in a lesson in your schedule. But not everyone can work well and stay focused when doing online classes so many tutors still provide face to face.
Generally the price of the online and face to face lessons are the same but some tutors sometimes offer cheaper rates for the online ones, so it’s worth keeping an eye out for.
The price of lessons can vary quite a bit as it is the tutors themselves who set the prices of their lessons. The average price of an hour long grind is 23 euro in Galway, but if you have a strict budget, you can use the filter on our website to only see tutors who are providing lessons at the price point that you set.
It is often recommended for most students to take at least one science subject for the Leaving Cert curriculum as having done at least one science related subject is often a base requirement for many university level courses. Physics can be a very good choice for students who like maths and who don’t find it too difficult. But if you don’t naturally find maths to be quite understandable and intuitive it shouldn't put you off from choosing Physics as it can be learnt, it will just take a bit more effort.
The Leaving Cert curriculum for Physics aims to provide a general understanding of Physics and why they work as they do as well as giving an understanding as to how they apply in real, everyday life. So, if you are someone who wants to learn more about how the world works at a fundamental level and who wants to develop their logical and observation skills then choosing to study Physics is a solid choice.
Some opportunities that learning Physics at the Leaving Cert level can offer you are university courses such as: Engineering, Financial Mathematics, Data science and even courses such as Dentistry, Bio technology and Agricultural science (again, due to many courses wanting at least one science subject). Physics can give you a good understanding of the world and give you possibilities to study many different subjects at university.
