About Ishaan
My name's Ishaan and I am just about to start my second year studying French and Beginner's Spanish at St John's College, University of Cambridge. I'm from Manchester and attended Manchester Grammar School, where I achieved D1,A*,A* in History, Maths, and French.
I'd quite like to get involved in tutoring as I want to help students learn and develop, and to give them confidence in their studies by helping them with any difficulties, and making the process of learning simple and logical.

As I was a school student only last year I know what approach works well for people my age- I aim to make my students as comfortable as possible and be friendly, to make sure they are in the best condition to work well and have fun. My lessons are an hour and involve going over past work/homework and being a point of call for any specific subject-related queries, as well as teaching new material. I believe in a mixture of guided learning that I provide, balanced with specific areas that the student needs help with.
I also am looking to help anyone working on their personal statement for subjects such as English, History and Languages, and to assist them with the Oxbridge application process.
My lessons are geared towards children from Year 7 to students doing their GCSES, as well as students in the process of writing personal statements, or going into Year 12.
I tutored informally during my school years, and since I completed my first year of University online I know how teaching over Zoom works, and the challenges it brings and how to effectively coordinate a lesson.
