About Danielle
I'm a junior at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, majoring in political science with a 3.6 GPA. My coursework includes:

- US Foreign Policy

I've also taken classes in ethics, philosophy, English, and history, which gives me a well-rounded foundation to teach political science, government, and history in a way that connects ideas across subjects instead of treating them separately.
Outside the classroom, I work as a Resident Assistant and hold a leadership role in my sorority, so I'm used to explaining things clearly to different kinds of learners and keeping people on track toward a goal. I bring that same approach to tutoring: patient, organized, and focused on making sure concepts actually make sense, not just memorized for a test.

Teaching Method
I start every new student with a quick assessment: what course or exam they're working toward, what's tripping them up, and how they learn best (reading, discussion, practice questions). From there, I build sessions around breaking down big theories and systems into plain language, using current events and real examples so concepts stick instead of feeling abstract. I also push students to practice writing short answers or essays, since that's usually where history and government grades are won or lost, not just multiple choice recall.
How a Typical Lesson Runs
First 5-10 minutes: review homework, answer lingering questions
Next 20-25 minutes: walk through the core concept for that session, using examples and comparisons
Next 15-20 minutes: apply it, through practice questions, an essay outline, or a case study
Last 5-10 minutes: recap the main takeaway and set up what's next
Between sessions: I send practice materials or a short reading guide so progress doesn't stall
