About Jessica
Beyond having experience as a college writing tutor since 2017, my background includes training to understand how I as a tutor can support student experiences and diversity, as well as how to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
With my experience and receiving my BA in anthropology, I am confident in providing writing support for all subjects, including personal essays for college applications.
In a tutoring setting, I absolutely love getting to hold conversations with people about their writing, and help them develop as writers. I strongly believe writing is a powerful form of communication, and enabling students to express themselves via writing is extremely rewarding.
Outside of tutoring, I genuinely love writing and all its processes. Since elementary school, I scribed poems and short stories on loose pieces of papers, and now have had the fortunate experience of being published in multiple works. Although I don't expect everyone to develop creative interest in writing, I do hope I can teach people how to better enjoy the often-dreaded writing process to ease the stress of academic writing.
