About Rich
I’m ALTO, a professional DJ and music producer with releases on respected labels including Trick, Kaluki, Techno Bible and Blanc Audio, and my music has been supported and played by artists such as Marco Carola and Michael Bibi.
I’ve spent years developing my sound, refining my production workflow, and working to a professional, label-ready standard. Alongside releasing music, I’ve built a strong understanding of how tracks are actually made to work in real-world club and label environments — from idea to finished, release-ready record.
As a teacher, my focus is simple: help you get real results. I don’t teach generic, one-size-fits-all tutorials. Every lesson is one-to-one, structured around your goals, your level, and your music. Whether you’re just starting out in Ableton or you’re an experienced producer trying to push your tracks to a professional level, I adapt my approach to what you need most.
I’m patient, honest, and practical in the way I teach. I’ll show you not just what to do, but why you’re doing it, using the same techniques and workflows I use in my own productions. My aim is for you to leave each session with clear improvements, new skills, and a better understanding of how to move your music forward.

My Ableton lessons are 100% one-to-one, private, and fully tailored to you, your music, and your goals. This isn’t a generic tutorial or pre-recorded course — every session is built around your sound, your projects, and where you want to take your music. All done via zoom!
I teach in a practical, real-world, release-focused way. We work directly inside Ableton on your tracks (or start new ones from scratch), and I show you the same techniques I use in my own productions that have led to releases on Trick, Kaluki, Techno Bible, Blanc Audio and support from Marco Carola and Michael Bibi.
You choose the focus of each session. This can include:
Breaking down your tracks and improving arrangements
Recreating professional-level drums, bass and sound design
Building a full track from scratch together
Mixing and mastering guidance
Finishing the final “last 10%” that separates demos from release-ready records
Teaching Method & Lesson Structure
Lessons are typically 60 minutes (longer sessions can be arranged).
Each session is:
Goal-based (we decide what you want to improve)
Hands-on inside Ableton
Focused on real results, not theory for the sake of it
Recorded or supported with samples and project files where appropriate so you can keep practising after the lesson
I explain things clearly and practically, adapting my teaching style to your level — whether you’re a beginner or an artist aiming for label releases.
