About Amber
My name is Amber, and I was born in central London. I am a graduate of The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where I completed my M.A. in Performance Practice as Research, focusing on kinaesthetic learning. I am a fully trained and qualified teacher, having obtained my PGCE at the University of East London. For over 17 years, I have worked as a tutor, teacher, and lecturer, gaining experience across various age groups and courses. I have worked with a diverse range of learners, from high-profile clients in private tutoring and governess roles to British students in both independent and state education. I care deeply about the young people I work with and am passionate about inspiring and developing their hearts and minds. It is incredibly rewarding to see my students achieve their goals, build resilience, and gain self-confidence as they recognise their own progress. I am always mindful of my students’ academic and emotional well-being and have remained in touch with all of them. I specialise in one-on-one tutoring, offering a bespoke service tailored to each child's unique needs, passions, and individuality. My background in performing arts provides an excellent foundation for teaching communication, pronunciation, deportment, critical thinking, body language, and confidence. I strongly believe in fostering emotional stability alongside academic success to cultivate well-rounded, cultured, and inquisitive minds.

With over 17 years of experience as an English tutor, teacher, and lecturer, I have worked extensively with international students in independent and state education, language schools, and private tuition. My expertise includes teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP), IELTS preparation, business English and functional English to diverse learners, ranging from young adults to professionals and university students. I hold a Cert-Ed from the University of East London and an M.A. in Performance Practice as Research from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where I explored kinaesthetic learning methodologies. My teaching portfolio includes delivering Academic English to international students preparing for UK university courses through Summer Boarding Courses at Oxford University. Additionally, I have experience teaching EAP IELTS courses privately to adult learners and have worked at Cambridge University’s Girton College with The Cambridge Law Studio Ltd, delivering TOLES (Legal English) courses to international lawyers. I am highly experienced in online teaching and have delivered courses via Zoom and Microsoft Teams, making me well-prepared to support students in a digital learning environment. My current role involves teaching English Functional Skills to adult apprenticeships and providing online instruction for Cambridge certificates (ESOL, IELTS), IGCSE/GCSE English Literature, and A-Level English. I have also designed curricula, conducted assessments, and facilitated cross-disciplinary projects that enhance student engagement.
