About Missy
I am an academic performance coach with a background in graduate and doctoral-level health sciences education, with experience navigating rigorous coursework, research, and online learning environments.
Through my academic journey, I developed structured systems for organizing coursework, studying efficiently, and preparing for exams—strategies that I now teach to students who want to improve their academic performance in a more effective and sustainable way.
I understand the challenges that many students face, especially those balancing school with work, family responsibilities, or returning to school after time away. My approach focuses on helping students build confidence, reduce overwhelm, and develop practical systems they can continue using independently.

My academic coaching sessions are structured, supportive, and designed to help students build clear systems that improve academic performance over time. These skills are applicable across a wide range of subjects and are especially valuable in online courses and academically demanding programs.
These strategies are especially helpful for students in writing-heavy courses, reading-intensive subjects, and exam-based classes that require strong comprehension and test-taking skills.
Each student begins with a complimentary academic assessment designed to identify current challenges, learning style, and academic goals. During this initial session, we complete a guided intake and analyze key areas of difficulty, allowing me to develop a clear, personalized plan for improving academic performance efficiently and with less stress.
Sessions may include:
• organizing coursework and academic materials
• developing effective study systems
• breaking down complex concepts step-by-step
• preparing for exams using structured test-taking strategies
• creating weekly study plans
I work with students using a practical, step-by-step approach that focuses on improving how they study, not just what they study.
I use a combination of structured study systems, practical tools, and alternative learning methods to help students improve focus, retain information more effectively, and manage their coursework with less stress.
This includes working with students who struggle with traditional study approaches—including those who do not enjoy reading—by introducing techniques that make learning more engaging, efficient, and easier to understand.
Sessions are conducted online using screen sharing with live audio discussion, allowing us to review assignments, notes, and coursework together in a focused and practical way. Video is not required, which helps create a more comfortable and distraction-free learning environment.
My goal is to help students become more independent, confident, and efficient in their learning so they can succeed not only in their current courses, but in future academic and professional settings.

Note: Small group sessions may be available upon request for students who prefer a collaborative learning environment or are working toward similar academic goals.
The flat rate for a 2-hour group session is $40 for each student.
