About Syed
I am an Academic Scholar at Winchester College, currently predicted straight 9s across all subjects at GCSE, including Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Latin, Greek, French, and Computer Science. My enthusiasm for learning goes hand-in-hand with a deep commitment to helping others succeed. I’m driven, empathetic, and organised, with a particular interest in making challenging concepts accessible and engaging for younger students. I’m hoping to pursue a career in medicine, and I bring the same sense of compassion and diligence to tutoring as I do to my wider academic and service work.

My teaching is hands-on, student-led, and tailored. I use a flipped learning model wherever possible — encouraging independent review before lessons so we can focus on problem-solving, exam skills, and discussion during contact time. I use past paper questions, mark schemes, PMT, and create custom worksheets to target weak areas. For languages, I adopt an immersion approach, using resources like Lingua Latina per se Illustrata for Latin and ReadLang with short stories for French. I emphasise vocabulary, idiom, and active grammar reinforcement. In Computer Science, I support students using YouTube tutorials, annotated mark schemes, and guided programming tasks, ensuring consistent practice and feedback. I tutor from primary to GCSE in: Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Latin, Greek, French, and Computer Science.
