About Olivia

Hi! I'm Olivia, I'm a 22 year-old 3rd-year student at the University of York currently studying Writing, Directing and Performance. I want to teach because I loved my school years so much and I found working on essays, analysis and creative writing incredibly rewarding as a student, I want to use the joy and passion I have in my subjects to pass on to the next generation of students to help them fall in love with the subjects the way I do, or at least just find them a bit less daunting!

About the lesson

I want to encourage students to find their own understandings and interpretations of English texts so all of the ideas in their analysis and essay writing are their own. My role is to help show students how to find these interpretations and analyses in the texts, and how best to structure and frame these ideas in an essay style to impress the examiners or teachers.
