About Sangweon

Hey! My name is Sangweon, and I'm finishing my last year in Bachelor of Biomedical Science Scholars Program at Monash. This year, I've been selected to be the student ambassador for the Medicine faculty and a senior peer mentor.

In highschool, I completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program last year at Townsville Grammar School, along with holding various captaincies such as Boarding Captain and School Prefect.

I enjoy playing a variety of sports, from touch, soccer, and rugby (league and union) to long-distance running and weight training. I also love to cook crazy meals, especially Korean dishes! I'm also interested in playing piano (AMEB grade 6).

I know that I wasn't the smartest kid in high school, but I was able to achieve outstanding results by the end. I would like to join your academic journey based on all the lessons I've learned from high school. :)

About the lesson

From only being able to say 'hi', 'bye', 'yes' and 'no' to graduating with the best English (IB HL) mark in the school and holding professional TESOL and TEFL certificates. Originally from Korea, I moved to Australia in grade 4 and struggled (a lot) to learn English, however my passion towards English grew exponentially.

English is more than just reading, writing, listening and speaking. It's also about opening up countless opportunities in your life, such as diversitied relationships, broadening your perspective and most importantly, creating another playlist in spotify. Not only this, it prevents us from miscommunication as you improve the skill to verbalise and textualise your thoughts.

For most high school students, I believe that conciseness and learning the fundamental purpose of the sentence and its meaning is crucial in a successful essay. I was able to overcome this throughout my highschool career and learnt that are many tips & tricks in writing an essay. With this recent experience I will help and guide other high school students to achieve their full potential.

Lessons are designed for all primary and secondary students of any levels and ages seeking English skill enhancement. Specialised from casual English to formal essay writing, persausive writing and writing reports. Best for IB Students!! (I know the IB structure inside out!)
