About Yaroslava

I am all about wine: sommelier, wine lover, wine educator. 6 years ago I became a wine professional, advanced sommelier certified by United States Sommelier Association. PhD in molecular biology, and many years of doing scientific research in biology and genetics allow me to think deep and clearly understand biological and chemical mechanisms of vine growing and winemaking. Years of teaching university students gave me the capability to extract information, organize it, and present it clear and condensed in a form interesting even for teenagers with a short attention span. 5 years I provide my wine-appreciation session for people who want to learn about winemaking and wine culture, aroma and taste variations, grape and climate and so on.

About the lesson

I bring to your attention stories about wines combined by variety, geography or type of production. “Rieslings of the World: Taste of Sugar and Age”, ”Sparkling Wines”, “Pinot Noir: white, rosé and red wines from the same vine”, “Jerez”, “Wines of New Zealand”, “Chardonnay: the taste of climate and oak”, “Wines of Spain”, “Sake” and many others, the wine world is endless. The sessions can be offered individually with the subject of your choice or by series (examples of series: “Wines of France by regions”, “Most Popular White wine by varietals”, “Fortified wines”, and so on). The subjects and their order are chosen together with the student depending on his/her/their aims, knowledge and wishes. Each story would be accompanied by tasting wines that perfectly reflect the subject. For online lessons, I provide a list of wine adjusted to the student’s preferred shopping place choice. “Taste and Learn” takes about 1 - 1.5 hours, and 5-6 different wines will be offered for tasting.
