• Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

  My first experience using a computer was during my school years, where I was fascinated by how technology could be used to create, solve problems, and communicate ideas. As I progressed through my engineering studies, computers became much more than a tool for basic tasks, they became an essential part of design, analysis, and project delivery. Learning CAD software opened a new world for me, allowing me to transform concepts into detailed engineering drawings and 3D models.

• What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

  The evolution that has impressed me the most is the transition from traditional 2D drafting to intelligent 3D modeling and Building Information Modelling (BIM). This transformation has significantly improved collaboration, visualization, and project coordination within the construction industry.
  
  Looking ahead, I believe Artificial Intelligence will be the next major turning point. AI-powered design tools will help engineers and designers automate repetitive tasks, optimize designs, and make better decisions while still relying on human expertise and creativity.

• Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

  My expertise lies in engineering drafting, CAD design, BIM modeling, and construction documentation using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other engineering applications. I have worked on residential, commercial, and prefabricated construction projects across Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and India.
  
  What interests me most is the ability to transform ideas into accurate technical drawings and realistic models that can be used to build real structures. In today's digital world, these skills are essential because they bridge the gap between concept and construction, helping projects become more efficient, accurate, and cost-effective.
  
  I am also passionate about teaching these skills to students and professionals, helping them become job-ready and confident in using industry-standard software.

• Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

  I respect the contributions of Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Mark Zuckerberg because they changed the way people interact with technology. However, I am equally inspired by engineers, educators, and industry professionals who solve real-world problems and help others grow.
  
  As someone involved in both industry practice and teaching, I admire people who combine technical excellence with a commitment to sharing knowledge. Their ability to create practical impact motivates me in my own career.

• What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

  I would tell them that every expert started as a beginner. Technology may seem overwhelming at first, but learning becomes much easier when it is broken down into simple, practical steps.
  
  As an instructor, I focus on making software approachable by connecting lessons to real-world examples and projects. With patience, practice, and proper guidance, anyone can develop confidence and technical skills. The key is not to try learning everything at once, but to build knowledge one step at a time.

• What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

  Outside of technology, I am passionate about engineering, construction, teaching, and mentoring students. I enjoy helping aspiring engineers develop practical skills that can improve their career opportunities.
  
  I am also interested in entrepreneurship and building engineering education services that make professional training more accessible and affordable. Seeing students progress from beginners to confident professionals is one of the most rewarding aspects of what I do.
  
  In addition to my industry experience, I was selected as a CAD trainer at the University of South Australia, where I mentored and supported engineering students on real projects. Teaching and guiding students remains one of the most fulfilling parts of my professional journey.
