About Charlie
I developed a profound interest in academia and research, having completed an EPQ, getting nearly full marks, and later published my research as a book. Since then, I have started writing journal articles as well as looking at new, innovative ways to publish research and make it more accessible to a greater number of people. I am in my final year of my Law LLB degree and I plan to then go on to do the Barristers Training Course LLM with a dissertation and eventually complete a PhD in Law. I love research because being able to look in depth and learn about and research an area which you are interested in and where you set your own syllabus is very fun and allows you to develop your knowledge and become an expert in your field.
My current academic research interests include: Public Legal Education, Legal Pedagogy, Legal Practice, Juries and Justice Delays, Charity Law, Children Law, Sexual Offences (particularly with a focus on neurodivergent offenders and when the victim or defendant is a child/neurodiverse), Family Law- Children Law, Marriage, Medical Law- Informed Consent, Children's Consent, Assisted Suicide, Law of Evidence.
I particularly welcome individuals who are looking at conducting research in the above areas but I am also happy to mentor a more broad range of research projects,

These 1-hour sessions are for anyone who is undertaking a research project such as Extended Project Qualifications, Dissertations and academic journal articles. I provide support, advice, guidance and knowledge on how best to conduct research, where to find appropriate resources, how to fully explore your ideas and so on. I am like a coach or mentor for new and aspiring researchers, giving you a sense of direction when it comes to something which you may otherwise feel alone with. I have a particular specialist interest in law, but can also mentor students in other social sciences, particularly psychology and criminology, at A-Level.
