About Julie
Hi, I'm Julie! I'm originally from Canada and have been living in New Zealand for the past 8 years. I have a Diploma in Business Administration from Algonquin College and several years of experience working with people from different backgrounds.
I'm friendly, patient and approachable, and I understand that speaking English can feel intimidating, especially when you're worried about making mistakes. My goal is to create a relaxed and supportive environment where you can practice without feeling embarrassed or judged.
I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and helping them feel more confident using English in everyday life. Whether you want to improve your conversation skills, pronunciation, vocabulary, or simply have someone to practice speaking with, I'm happy to help!

I believe the best way to learn English is through relaxed, practical conversation and lessons tailored to each student's individual needs. I aim to make lessons comfortable and encouraging, while helping students build confidence in speaking English naturally.
I have experience helping members of the Chinese community improve their English, particularly with everyday communication and building confidence using English in real-life situations. I enjoy working with learners from different backgrounds and adapting my teaching style to suit each person's goals and level.
Lessons are 30 minutes, with a mixture of conversation, vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar and practical exercises. I can adjust each lesson depending on what you would like to improve, whether that's speaking more confidently, understanding English better, or simply having someone to practise with.
My lessons are suitable for adult English learners of different levels, and I'm happy to work with beginners as well as students who simply want more practice and confidence speaking English.
