About Spencer
Growing up in Melbourne, I was surrounded by strong drummers since a child, and was quick to pick up the love and passion for the instrument at age 4. Since then, I have experienced mentorship from a number of professional drummers, each specializing in different genres (including Jazz,Latin,Funk,Rock,RnB,Pop,Musical Theatre, etc). When combining my prior experience with the mentorship from touring professional drummer Pablo Calzado, I learnt more than just how to just become a standout drummer, but how to move forward in becoming an effective mentor. My extensive time learning the instrument gave me opportunities to gig with talented musicians throughout Singapore where I was based for the past 9 years before returning to Melbourne.

I was based in Singapore for the past 9 years, where I gained a respectable cohort of students, age range from 5-45 y.o., some of which I continue to teach online.
My lessons are 1 hour long, with options to follow an exam based path (Trinity Rock and Pop) or to just hone in on skills and grow as a drummer without the grades. I specialise in Funk and Jazz drumming, but I teach all genres. All levels of drummer are welcome to have lessons, from beginner classes all the way to high exam level drummers.
