About Penelope
I am a student who has received early entry into Macquarie University through the Leaders and Achievers Scheme, whereby I was accepted to pursue a double degree in Law and Security Studies. I recently completed my HSC, so I am well acquainted with the subjects I have just completed, these being: Ancient History, History Extension, English Advanced, Mathematics Advanced, Legal studies, Music 2 and Music extension.
I play two instruments and have played sports such as soccer, touch football, cross country and softball.
My ambition was originally to become a fighter pilot in the Air Force, however was failed due to my eyesight. Now I am looking into pursuing a career as a lawyer, possibly working within intelligence agencies such as ASIO, or becoming the first woman in the Australian Special Forces.
I have received various leadership positions such as Music Prefect, as well as numerous awards namely: ADF Long Tan Leadership and Teamwork Award, Prize for Academic Endeavour, Parliamentarian’s Commonwealth Leadership Award, 2nd Place in Brads State Solos, Best all round in soccer, touch football and softball.
I also attended Meriden Anglican School for Girls throughout high school.

My teaching methodology is laden with creativity and fun. As a student who has just finished high school I know how boring certain methodologies can be. Why is mine different? While I teach I like to explain the significance of concept, individual or event and why it is so relevant and applicable to modern life. I like to use a plethora and variety of textbooks, film, music and other mediums to teach as well as new and interesting activities that get the student questioning and really delving into what they are learning. I most importantly want kids to be excited about what they’re learning, not see their subjects as something they have to do. Trust me, I know how they feel, and I’ve watched teachers for years, the good and the bad, with many of their techniques influencing me.
