About Madeleine
I am an ESL teacher from the Midwest region of the United States. I recently obtained my TEFL certification in November of 2023 in Costa Rica. I currently live in Guatemala and have been an elementary teacher for a little over 6 months there. Prior to teaching in elementary, I have had experience teaching adult students from beginner to intermediate levels of English. Most of my students are of a Latin origin so I have a fundamental understanding of the Spanish language. I understand the difficulties that can come with learning a new language. But with time and practice, you can learn and advance your skills! Hope to see you in my classroom :)

I am a teacher who values conversational engagement and speaking. Typically during a normal lesson, I like to engage in small talk, a brief description of what you did over the weekend or how was your day? Or what do you think of the latest animation movie? I am a teacher that focuses specifically on my students' goals and source topics that make learning fun! I have experience teaching children ages 6-13 and adults from 20-45. My lessons are for students who have a base knowledge of English, but are wanting to advance their vocabulary, refine their grammar skills, and speak without hesitation. I have had students from B1-C2 levels.
